Soofie Clan
Arching above Floo is a glorious rainbow, home to the sentimental and poetic Soofie Clan. They brighten everyone’s days with their special greeting cards and inspire other Floofies creative endeavors, much like the Muses of Greek mythology. Each Soofie has a compartment within the Rainbow Headquarters that is made of solid panels of colored light. These walls have a luminescent sheen, which keeps away bad dreams (and the nargles.)
Priscilla Soofie-Floofie- Everyone who saw Priscilla's grand entrance from the Well of Imagination on August 14, 2012 realized that she was going to be an original! When she joined her Soofie clan on their colorful rainbow, she eagerly began to create poems for greeting cards. Though she clearly exhibited a knack for love poems, her sweet messages of endearment always seemed to take on an ominous tone. They were amusing, and lovely, and well-rhymed… but they tended to also disturb the sleep of even other Soofies, bad-dream repelling walls and all, for reasons no one could quite put a finger on, but everyone suspected had something to do with the grisly imagery she employed. Through her first two months of existence, her cards sold terribly, but all of a sudden, there was a huge uptick in interest. As the weather turned colder, and pumpkins peppered the hillsides, Floofies in the market for Halloween cards flocked to Priscilla’s creations.
Priscilla is convinced that Halloween is the most romantic holiday of them all - even though many other Floofies disagree. Although her Poe-like poems already lend themselves to the celebration of All Hallow’s Eve, she challenges herself with finding appropriate rhymes for 'witch' and has discovered that nothing really rhymes with 'goblin.'
Natasha Soofie-Floofie- On one lovely September day, a mysterious and sly Soofie appeared from the colorful waters of the Well of Imagination. Natasha Soofie-Floofie was unlike any Soofie who had come before. She was not quite as happy and peppy as other Soofies, she was more reserved and a bit, well, off. Natasha has a somewhat suspicious nature, which causes her to try to watch what everyone is up to. She keeps copious files on everything she has seen and heard. It seems that Natasha knows things about many Floofies that they don’t even know themselves. This information helps her relate vastly amusing stories to the Floofies who gather around her at parties. Needless to say, she gets a lot of invitations.
Natasha’s greeting card poems tend to be sarcastic and droll, unless she is talking about her favorite topics: the importance of lip-liner, advances in surveillance technology, and hairdressers. Though these odes are touching and informative, for some reason the poems about her preferred things are never selected for print. However her sassy, amusing cards do very well in today’s economy.
If you visit Natasha, you will discover she has a great fondness for monkeys since she has a collection of monkey figurines that is quite famous. But, Natasha is also known for her unusual fears. She is terrified of moose and squirrels, especially the kind that can fly.
Cloofie Clan
The second highest peak on Floo holds an endlessly sleeping volcano, home of the metal-smith Cloofies. The magma deep in the heart of this mountain provides the heat required to melt and shape metal. A large cavern serves as the central hub for Cloofie metal working activity. Around the clock the high ceilings are alight with bright reflections from the many forges and sparks from hammers on anvils. This cavern is complemented by an extensive series of smaller caves that surround it deeper in the mountain, each available for reservation for private Cloofie projects. Though it gets extremely hot in these caves, the Cloofies don’t mind. In fact, they relish the heat – they actually seek it out. It is a well-known fact on Floo that the Cloofies’ favorite food is chili peppers – the spicier the better.
Marjory Cloofie-Floofie is a sweet little Floofie who came out of the waters in the Well of Imagination on August 5, 2012. The waters of the Well had started bubbling five days earlier, leading everyone to believe that a new Floofie was soon to arrive. By time Marjory actually got there, the crowd that usually surrounds the Well of Imagination prior to a birth had dissipated. In fact, only one extremely tired Floofie-Floofie remained to welcome little Marjory.
She was integrated into the Cloofie Clan of metal smiths with open arms, even though they soon discovered her initial lateness was a sign of what was to come. She is constantly late for everything. You see, poor Marjory has a terrible sense of direction. She can't read maps and it takes her ages to get anywhere because she ends up meandering. The Cloofies sometimes even have to send out someone to retrieve her. When they do, they mostly find her with some utterly amazing object that she has discovered - which they take back to the shop to use in a new Cloofie metal creation.
