Starboard Island Clans
Quoofie Clan
On the Starboard side of the Island lies a picturesque aspen grove that is always booming with chatter and music. This is the headquarters of the Quoofie Clan, designated party planners of Floo. From birthday parties, to engagements, to launches of new Roofie inventions, the Quoofies are never out of reasons to celebrate.
Charlie Quoofie-Floofie popped out of the Well of Imagination on August 6, 2012. He was greeted with huge smiles when everyone saw his happy stripes. Quickly, Charlie became known at the Quoofie headquarters as “that guy who always has candy.” Party planning meetings that he attended were punctuated with the sounds of crunching, slurping and chewing as he plowed through his ever present stash of confections. Always having someone offering the other Quoofies candy was certainly pleasant, but before long his candy pushing ways became too much of a distraction and most distressing of all, Charlie himself never seemed to gain any weight.
Following the rise of hyperactivity, but decrease in party planning effectiveness in the Clan, Charlie realized that his passion for sugar was better suited elsewhere. So he packed up and moved to Tupo to start his very own candy shop. Though distributing candy to the hard working citizens of the Capital fulfilled his desire to spread sweets, Charlie felt as though he wasn’t utilizing his clan born knack for party planning. Inspired by human children’s author Roald Dahl’s famous book, Charlie discovered a way to combine his two passions.
And so the Wonka Parties began. Now, his candy store is famous Floo-wide for the most stupendous parties, where everything at the party is made out of candy - and we mean everything...plates, chairs, balloons... and Charlie couldn't be happier.
Groofie & Goofie Clans
Deep in the forest on Floo grows a glorious stand of sequoia, in which an artists’ commune has developed, with Groofies playing music from a network of tree houses and Goofies creating works of art in their studios at the base of the trees. The canopy of these trees is threaded together with sway bridge passageways, linking the musical tree houses so the Groofies can go from one to another without disturbing the Goofies while they create. The Goofies’ pathways on the ground mirror these rope bridges for easy access to all of their studios. The Groofies and Goofies are the closest clans, not only because of their living situation, but their similarities, as both Groofies and Goofies are very creative.
Sophia Groofie-Floofie burst from the Well of Imagination on August 15, 2012. The music in her heart fit right in with her musical clan and it soon became her dream to become a percussionist for the Floo Harmonic Orchestra. Unfortunately for Sophia, it was quickly discovered that she didn’t seem to inherit her Clan’s instrumental prowess. Sophia was able to master the triangle, and only the triangle, over a grueling series of intense rehearsals and masters’ workshops. Determined to join her Clanmates in glorious harmony, she willingly put in the required effort, and was finally cleared for performance.
On the night of her debut, Sophia, lulled by the lovely classical music surrounding her, fell asleep before her note. This may seem like a sad story, but then something astonishing happened. Sophia started to sing. In her sleep. Really well. She reminds everyone of a songbird when she's asleep and singing (which is a vast difference from the dying squirrel she sounds like when she tries to sing while awake.) The conductor now makes sure there is a comfy bed ready for Sophia right in front of the orchestra pit, and all musical productions, even upbeat ones, begin with a soothing rendition of “Brahm’s Lullaby.”
Skip Groofie-Floofie- One of the most artistic Goofies to ever come to the Sequoia Studios was created on August 17, 2012. His name is Skip Goofie-Floofie. He found a way to include the natural surroundings into his art; in fact he lets nature do most of the work. He developed a new painting technique, which utilizes the ants who live in the forest. Skip strategically places ink and paint puddles in the way of ant trails. He then puts canvas further along the ants’ path. And then he has a picnic. Skip regularly adjusts the position of the canvas and replaces the old ink with fresh or differently hued pigments to make his “antwork” more interesting. These ultra unique pieces of art are on display in the MOFA (The Museum of Flootonian Art.)
Skip is also infamous throughout Floo for having the largest “borrowed” hat collection on the island, possible on the planet below as well. His stash of headgear has items of all description: bowlers, fedoras, baseball hats, hats with horns, cat-in-the-hat hats, hats with wide brims, hat with small brims, sunhats, fascinators, nightcaps, visors, hardhats, beanies, bonnets, witch hats, hoods, hats of many colors and even some helmets. None of which actually belong to Skip.
Ubroofie Clan
On the starboard side of the island, deep within the frozen tundra, you can hear stories and laughter coming from a large network of igloos. This the headquarters of the Ubroofie Clan of Floofies, who’s special talent is storytelling. Their stories can whisk you away to distant lands, where exciting and wonderful things happen at the drop of a pin.
Speaking of pins dropping, these long cylinder shaped Floofies have a special muscle in their throats that allows them to create perfect sound effects for their stories. This muscle also allows them to mimic any voice or accent perfectly. This talent, along with their melodious voices and, of course, storytelling skills, make Ubroofies able to tell stories that can make you laugh or cry, but you’ll always leave with a smile on your face.
Archie Ubroofie-Floofie- On June 18th, 2011 a very special Ubroofie burst out of the Well of Imagination. The Floofies who saw him knew instantly that he would brighten everyone’s day. They rushed him to the Ubroofie Igloo Headquarters where he was welcomed with open hearts. His bright rainbow stripes brought warmth to the cold climate.
While all Ubroofies are known for their story telling abilities, Archie prefers to tell his stories using song and interpretive dance. His favorite stories to tell are about adventures in snow, especially when the children in the tale have never seen snow before! He is also an expert Snow-Floofie maker, and has likenesses of all his friends in his back yard.
He earned a gold metal in the Annual Groofie Clan’s Ukulele Competition playing his self-composed song, ‘It’s Cold Where I Live (But I’m Still A Happy Little Ubroofie-Floofie)’. His favorite foods are Froot Loops cereal and Life Savers candy.
Roofie Clan
Brandi Roofie-Floofie- On the day Brandi Roofie-Floofie sprang from the Well of Imagination she started to make friends right away. In fact, she has a talent for charming everyone around her. Some may say she's even a but of a flirt!
Since she loves to socialize and make new friends, she used her other talent, that for invention, to create a handy little gizmo that spits out great excuses. Her Excuse Machine helps Brandi get out of work so she can go and hang out at the Quoofie's parties.
